Grill Covers
Grill covers as we think of them today (along with the standard image that many have of what constitutes a barbeque grill) were first invented by George Stephen. George Stephen worked at the company Weber Brothers Steel Works working on buoys. He was tired of ash being blown onto his food when the wind blew while he was barbecueing, so he welded three legs onto the bottom half of a buoy and added a slightly smaller half sphere for a top cover. The Weber-Stephen Products Co., which produces Weber grill covers and is one of the longest running and best established grilling companies in the business, was the result.

A grill cover is an essential part of the modern grill; grill covers prevent the wind from blowing leaves, grass, or anything else onto the food while it is being cooked. Outdoor grill covers also prevent bugs or animals from bothering the food on the grill, and make it safer to have a grill out when children are around. Grill covers are one of the least expensive grilling accessories and are easy to install. Many grill covers are completely detachable and all you have to do if you want to change grill covers is take one off and put the other one on. With the extra control that you have over containing the heat of your grill using a new grill cover, you can get a somewhat different taste from the food that you are grilling. Try your local outdoor goods stores, places such as Home Depot, or sites on the world wide web (along with local newspaper listings for people who are moving and getting rid of their grilling equipment) to get the grill cover that you are looking for.
